She was a senior partner at Reid & Hellyer, one of the oldest law firms in the Inland Empire, retiring after 16 years of practice with the firm.  Prior to that, she worked in the contracts section of the Riverside County Counsel’s office.  She began her practice with a real property and intellectual property firm in the Silicon Valley.  Gervais’ practice has included numerous successful jury and bench trials.  She has often represented clients and resolved actions involving claims in excess of one million dollars. Her intellectual property practice includes all aspects of both transactional and litigation work in trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, infringement, product development and licensing matters.

Gervais graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor's degree in 1980. She earned her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1984, where she edited "Ideas in the Workplace," a textbook on intellectual property law. Gervais worked in the technology field in Silicon Valley throughout college and law school. She is also the author of "Internet Strategies for the Paralegal in California" and "Internet Basics for the California Attorney."
