Delilah Knox Rios was born in Ohio, raised in California. She and her husband Pedro W Rios-Rodriguez recently celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. They have two children, Franchesca Cortez, who has a Master’s degree in psychology and Mark Rios, an audio engineer. She has been named a Southern California SuperLawyer - 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

A Certified Family Law Specialist, State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, Rios has been a practicing California attorney for 34 years, sworn in May 30, 1980. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court – Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California. She received her Bachelor of Science in Law in 1978 and Juris Doctor in 1979 both from Western State University, College of Law, Orange County. Her law practice encompasses family law, real property, small business, civil, wills, trusts and estates. She is a member of the State Bar of California and has been appointed to the State Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Section for three years. In addition she is/has been a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, San Bernardino Bar Association, Riverside Bar Association, and East West Family Law Council. She is/has been also a member of Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Having practiced extensive litigation, she now prefers to practice alternative dispute resolution. She has been a Family Law Mediator for 20 years and Collaborative Divorce Practice professional for over 10 years. Rios is committed to helping families in transition through mediation and collaborative divorce which provides spouses, domestic partners and separating parents an out of court process that maintains their dignity, peace and privacy. 

Rios is/has been a member of International Association of Collaborative Professionals and Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association, member/board member of Collaborative Divorce Solutions Orange County and member/board member of the Collaborative Divorce Professionals of the Inland Empire (CDPIE). She is currently the president of CDPIE.  She is/has been also a member of Association for Conflict Resolution, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and Southern California Mediation Association.

As a member of the Bar, Delilah has volunteered professionally for the Superior Courts of San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles counties and the Volunteer Lawyer Project of the State Bar of California Board of Governors. She is a panel attorney at the Pomona Superior Court and past mediator for Claremont Dispute Resolution Center. She is/was on the Family Law Mediation panel of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Riverside County Superior Court and Inland Valleys Justice Center. She currently is a panelist on Center for Effective Dispute Resolution Services (CEDRS). She holds a life-time Community College teaching credential in Law, having taught Family Law and Wills/Probate at San Bernardino Valley College. She has been described as a “social worker in lawyer clothes.”

Rios has been honored as a Woman of Influence by Inland Empire Magazine, Woman of Achievement-Law by the YWCA San Gabriel Valley and a Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. She is on the Advisory Board - Paralegal Program for Mount San Antonio College. She has been honored with a City Tile and a Business of the Month Service Award from the City of Diamond Bar.

Having lived in Diamond Bar for over 30 years, she serves/has served as a board member/past president of the Regional Chamber of Commerce-San Gabriel Valley and past president of the Diamond Bar Chamber of Commerce. She has been a member of the West Covina Chamber of Commerce, Walnut Chamber of Commerce and the Diamond Bar Chamber of Commerce.

Best ‘at home’ in a library or a bookstore, her avocation is fiction writing. She enjoys books, music, dancing, plays and movies.
