Diana L. Martinez, founder of West Coast Mediation, Inc., provides collaborative divorce and mediation services in the counties of San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange. Since 2007, Martinez’s practice has been completely devoted to peaceful dispute resolution. Her mediation and collaboration training began through the University of Southern California School of Law’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program, and continued through mediation certification with the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She is an active member of the Los Angeles County Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution panel, through which she provides volunteer services for family law litigants, and also of the Inland Valleys Justice Center and RCBA Dispute Resolution Service, Inc., through which she provides mediation services to litigants in San Bernardino and Riverside County superior courts.

Martinez graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside in 1995 and received her Juris Doctor in 1998 from the University of Southern California School of Law. She has practiced as an attorney in the areas of family law, criminal defense and civil litigation. She is a member of the State Bar of California, the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association (Board member and instructor), the Southern California Mediation Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Orange County. She is also the co-founder of CultureCounts.org, a program dedicated to bringing awareness to the cultural complexities affecting family law matters.

Martinez participates as a coach and an instructor in training attorneys, judges, financial and mental health professionals in mediation and collaborative divorce, and lectures for various professional and community organizations on the topic of conflict resolution and the impact of cultural diversity in family law matters. Martinez is a certified instructor in negotiating through the high conflict divorce. She has been published in the areas of conflict resolution, divorce and cultural diversity in collaborative and mediation cases, and is also a regular contributor to various professional and community education publications.
